Who accredits Chrysalis?
Chrysalis courses, where indicated, are accredited or quality checked by the International Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (ICPS).
The ICPS are run by the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) who are based in the UK, the NCPS are part of the Accredited Register Scheme in the UK, which is recognized by the Professional Standards Authority. This is the benchmark for all counsellors in the UK.
This ensures that membership with the ICPS is fully recognised and offers members of the public reassurance that you as a counsellor have had to achieve certain standards to ensure you are safe to practice. By completing levels 3 to 5 with Chrysalis, you will have a route to accreditation with the ICPS, this will ensure that you have the support and recognition when you step into the counselling profession as a fully qualified counsellor.
You will join the ICPS as a student member upon enrolment on you Chrysalis course and start to receive all the benefits that come with membership.
In the UK Chrysalis are accredited by the NCPS, this means if you were to move to the UK you would have a route to the accredited register run by the NCPS, ensuring that you can continue with your counselling journey.

Chrysalis are also an International Association of Counsellors (IAC) Education Institute Member - this ensures that Chrysalis is further recognized internationally and gives students the opportunity to join the IAC once they have completed their training and access a whole host of benefits.
Who are Chrysalis Validated by?
Chrysalis are an approved centre for the Prince’s Trust, with all of our qualifications mapped to the Regulated and Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is regulated by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (OFQUAL), OFQUAL is a non ministerial government department that regulates qualifications, exams and tests in England and Wales.
The Princes Trust is an internationally recognised charity founded by King Charles III in 1976, it’s main aim is to help young people aged 11 to 30 to get into jobs, start businesses, continue in education and help with further training. This ethos aligns itself with Chrysalis as our main aim to help people find a new rewarding career in Counselling, we also have developed a variety of courses in Counselling for Children and Young people, which will continue to help our youth through their challenges into adulthood.
What is the RQF?
The RQF has nine levels starting with entry level through to level 8, Chrysalis currently runs courses from Level 3 to Level 6, to give you an indication of difficulty the levels are equivalent to the following: -
- Level 3 is equivalent to a UK A Level, or a Level 4 in Denmark
- Level 4 is equivalent to the first year of University in the UK or Level 5 in Denmark
- Level 5 is equivalent to a foundation degree in the UK or Level 5 in Denmark
- Level 6 is equivalent to a bachelors degree in the UK or Level 6 In Denmark
Training with Chrysalis will take you to a high level ensuring you feel competent to practice as a counsellor once you have completed your training. It also offers reassurance to the public that you have met academic standards and are appropriately trained to offer counselling.
