Chrysalis highly recommends that your first step in the process to discovering more and understanding your route to becoming a Counsellor, should be by Reading our Website.
OVERVIEW
- Our Courses are Part-Time. With study days held on Saturdays and/or Sundays depending on your course, the courses commence at 10am and finish at 5pm
- The level 3 qualifications are held online via Teams. Our level 4 & 5 qualifications are conducted via blended learning, this will mean some of your course is held via teams and some in person at a venue. Venues will be throughout Denmark.
- It is expected that you complete 8 hours of home study per week, this is generally, essays, assignments & case study work as well as reflective journals
- There are no exams throughout the duration of your study with Chrysalis
- You do not need to have had any previous experience or qualifications prior to commencing a Chrysalis Course
- You will have an allocated Tutor who you will have weekly access to.
- We have Counselling Course options for you and you can undertake, 1,2 or 3 years of study depending on your goal. Later qualifications are available once you have completed your Level 3 Certificate in Introduction to Counselling Skills
- Our Courses are Accredited or Quality Checked via the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society & International Counselling and Psychotherapy Society

WHAT STANDARDS DO I HAVE TO MEET TO ENROL?
• Entry into our Level 3 is open to any adult who can demonstrate that they can understand the course materials, is ethical and responsible, and who wishes to make a difference to themselves and others by entering this field. If you have a desire to grow and to help others, we welcome your application.
- Students also need to be able to read and write in English the course is assessed in English.
THE ENROLLMENT PROCESSOnce you have completed your course purchase, our enrolments will contact you either by phone or email within 3 working days to confirm the next steps.
Course generally fill quickly, to ensure the fastest possible start date please purchase your course to begin the process.
Once Chrysalis has all the signed paperwork you will gain access to our virtual learning environment where you can begin to look at our supplementary materials as well as your first modules class notes.

APPLICATIONS FROM PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
We welcome your enrolment if you have a disability we hope that we will be able to adapt our training in any way possible that will assist you to complete our courses. We ensure our venues are almost invariably accessible and can facilitate the presence of guide dogs, support persons, and appropriate adaptations of the course materials where possible. Please let us know your requirements when applying and we can arrange a longer interview to discuss your needs.

• As well as face to face work (online or in the room), you will be given a wide variety of regular assessed practical and theoretical modules.
• There is one homework assignment per component with an average of 30 hours reading and writing – approximately 8 hours per week.
• Many courses have practice groups which meet between modules.
• A personal tutor is available by phone in-between classes (at set contact times).
• Your client work will be appropriate to your chosen course and skill level and can range from supervised case studies to a placement depending on your chosen course.
• Our methods of assessing students are wide-ranging and fair, focusing on key practical skills. Chrysalis uses a system of independent second marking as well as using a highly qualified External Examiner to ensure quality and consistency.
• Each course, the final assessment is on your practical classroom work and/or work with clients and you will qualify if considered safe, ethical and competent at the level of your chosen course.

Yes. Chrysalis Courses internationally are recognised by the International Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (ICPS) where students from The Nordics can gain recognition.
The ICPS was established by Great Britain's National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society which is an Accredited Register holder with the Professional Standards Authority, which runs an officially recognised Accredited Register for counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK. We've been offering accreditation, professional services and membership to counsellors, psychotherapists and other talking therapists for over 28 years.
It’s compulsory to join the ICPS and maintain membership throughout training.
Joining a professional body gives our students a host of benefits, including; professional insurance and recognition, access to newsletters, journals and websites, peer support, reduced advertising rates and so on.
Are Chrysalis Courses recognised by OFQUAL and are they on the RQF?
Yes. Where indicated, courses are regulated by OFQUAL and Prince’s Trust and are listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework. Unlike other training providers who just issue their own “internal” qualifications, Chrysalis qualifications are externally recognised and credits can be transferred for further education.

What is the RQF?
The RQF has nine levels starting with entry level through to level 8, Chrysalis currently runs courses from Level 3 to Level 6, to give you an indication of difficulty the levels are equivalent to the following: -
- Level 3 is equivalent to a UK A Level, or a Level 4 in Denmark
- Level 4 is equivalent to the first year of University in the UK or Level 5 in Denmark
- Level 5 is equivalent to a foundation degree in the UK or Level 5 in Denmark
- Level 6 is equivalent to a bachelors degree in the UK or Level 6 In Denmark
Training with Chrysalis will take you to a high level ensuring you feel competent to practice as a counsellor once you have completed your training. It also offers reassurance to the public that you have met academic standards and are appropriately trained to offer counselling.

On graduation from indicated courses, you will be eligible to gain accredited membership with the relevant bodies and, subject to terms and conditions.
You'll be able to use your Level 5 qualification as entry points into the profession either by seeking employed work or setting up a private practice. The qualifications will also give you access to higher courses with Chrysalis. All learners must start with the level 3 qualification.
Career opportunities with a Chrysalis qualification can include; self-employment, whether working in a clinic or from home; employment in a variety of settings; enhancing your existing career; training and supervising, and a host of others. These opportunities can and should be combined to gain full use of your qualification.

Returning to study is a big decision, there are many things to consider, such as time, is this the right subject for you and how affordable the course options are.
We aim to make the courses the best value for money by giving you an excellent student journey and opening up doors once you have completed the course. We are also able to work with you by offering instalment plans whilst you are in training to take the pressure off trying to find the whole amount up front.

ADDITIONAL FEES
TEXT BOOKS & TRAVEL EXPENSES
Students are required to purchase text books throughout their study and pay their own travel expenses. The level 3 qualification is based online.
SUPERVISIONWhen you move onto the Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice you will need to budget, further down your studies, for the costs of attending a placement or in having supervision
Whilst most placements will provide supervision it is not a requirement, if a placement does not offer supervision then this will need to be funded by the student. Full details will be given to you prior to enrol onto the course. This will be on an invitation basis once you have completed your level 3 core training.INTERNATIONAL COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP FEES
Students are required to join the International Counselling and Psychotherapy Society as soon as they enrol, and

Students are required to join the International Counselling and Psychotherapy Society as soon as they enrol, and must maintain membership throughout training, the cost of a student member is DKK 217 per year.
PRINCE’S TRUST REGISTRATION FEES:
In order to receive The Prince’s Trust students must pay a separate registration fee to Prince’s Trust for each year of study:
- Level 3 Award DKK 392
- Level 3 Certificate DKK 609
- Level 4 Diploma DKK 1088 (upon successful completion of the Level 3 Certificate)
- Level 5 Diploma DKK 1262 (upon successful completion of the Level 4 Diploma)
Fees include classes, course materials, group supervision, tutor contact, marking and Chrysalis-issued certificates. Students must pay their own travel expenses, obtain their own course texts, and must pay a separate fee to the appropriate professional bodies to register as student members before undertaking their courses.
